The botanical garden in Coconi

At the centre of Mayotte, Coconi belongs to the commune of Ouangani, the only one of the seventeen communes of the island with no coastal exposure. On a former agricultural domain dating back to the colonial era, the botanical garden in Coconi run by the Conseil General of Mayotte houses magnificent orchids and presents, in a pleasant, tropical décor more than two hectares in size, a concentration of vegetable species endemic to Mayotte. The botanical garden of Coconi is just half an hour from Mamoudzou by car. The du- ration of the visit is approximately thirty minutes.
